Hors champ is a conscious, narrative rap album focused on what remains unseen, unspoken, and uncaptured. It explores the blind spots of contemporary reality: the silences left by dominant narratives, the violence that goes unnoticed, and the inner tensions people learn to contain in order to keep going.
The album avoids spectacle and posture. It follows a path of adult lucidity, where words carry responsibility and each track acts as a precise point of observation rather than a slogan.
Writing from the blind spot
At the core of Hors champ lies a question of perspective:
what is shown, what is hidden, and what becomes normalized through omission.
The lyrics address:
- the construction and framing of media narratives (Salle de montage),
- the moral rationalization of violence and obedience (La raison des bourreaux),
- inner fractures and silent survival (Angle mort),
- self-control and restraint as forms of strength (Poing dans la poche),
- non-linear, fully assumed life paths (Hors prévision).
Denunciation is never aggressive or accusatory. It works through analysis of systems, mechanisms, and frameworks that make the unacceptable appear reasonable.
Intimacy without self-pity
The album also crosses personal territories — filiation, transmission, absence, responsibility — without turning them into confession.
The voice remains steady and conscious, aiming less to explain suffering than to stand upright within it.
Rather than saying “I was hurt,” the album shows how one lives, thinks, and acts with what has been lived.
A refusal of spectacle
Both musically and lyrically, Hors champ favors restraint:
